Pupil Officers 2017-2018
We want pupils to play an active and positive role in all aspects of school life. Every year, the children elect a School Council representative from each class. They attend meetings, consult their classmates on issues and organise a range of activities throughout the year. They are particularly interested in the curriculum and developments around learning.
We believe that all children should be given the opportunity to lead an initiative or hold a position of responsibility that impacts the school as a whole, so we offer a wide range of leadership roles. For Year 6 children this is part of their personal development and preparation for secondary school and all children in Year 6 have a clear area of responsibility.
The following areas provide some of our opportunities for leadership or responsibility:
- School Council
- Eco committee
- School Nutrition Action Group
- Pupil Ambassadors
- House Captains and Vice Captains
- Sport Leaders
- Assembly set up and technical team
- Class Librarians
- Switch off Monitors
Each team has a link teacher, who works closely with the pupils to develop new projects, arrange events and help the children to contribute to the voice and vision of the school. Our pupil leaders contribute to our assemblies and our School Council members report to the school’s governing body annually.
Our Head Pupil Ambassadors are elected for being excellent role models and represent our school at a number of events.
